Year 11s shine at the Performing Arts and Dance Showcase

The 2018 Performing Arts and Dance Showcase was truly an evening of magic. We have become accustomed over the years to a stunningly high standard of performances; this year’s matched any that have gone before. Themed around emotions, the performances ranged from professionally delivered monologues through dance duets to ensemble pieces from West End musicals such as RentMamma Mia, and of course now Hamilton, which had audience feet tapping. There was even space for a haunting rendition of the theme from The Mission so clear that if you closed your eyes you were in South America with Jermey Irons.
A full house left the show in high spirits, knowing both that they had enjoyed an evening of first rate entertainment, and that this excellent troupe of young people had taken a significant step towards a fantastic final grade in their qualifications.

We would like to thank all of the performers, friends and parents who attended, and of course Mrs Nibloe, Ms Warran and the returning Mrs Beasley. In the words of the penultimate number, these students have been changed for good!

Year 8s celebrate in style

Mr Grant, Head of Year 8 Mr Morris and Year Assistant Mrs Newcomb enjoyed a croissant and a pain au chocolate with our top year 8 students to celebrate their outstanding attitude to learning. Pictured here are all of the students who averaged A in their recent monitoring grades. Well done to them all!
