Poetic success for year 10 linguists

Miss Stewart writes:-

On Friday 19th November seven Year 10 linguists accompanied Miss Stewart and Madame Monnier to the Institut Français in London to take part in the annual poetry slam. This year nearly 100 students from seven different schools took part, collaborating with each other to create and perform poems in a variety of languages on the theme of climate change.

We are very proud to announce that Lucy Beard and Elizabeth Sisley made up half of the winning team, and also took the prize for best imagery with their work likening climate change to a car breaking down.  Athena Nainby and Hannah Taylor also made the finals and Darragh Halpin, Louis Finlayson and Lucas Welton were asked to join three professional poets on the judging panel. Bravo!
