Max wins the Patrick Moore award

Mr Bush writes:-
One of the first awards Mr Grant presented when he arrived at Sackville was the Sir Patrick Moore Award. This was donated by the estate of Sir Patrick after he passed away; he spent his early years in East Grinstead learning astronomy only a few hundred metres east of the site of our own observatory.
So, it was fitting in the final weeks of Mr Grant’s Headship to present the award one final time, and there was no-one more fitting than year 12 Max Goddard. Max has been to almost every open evening for several years and now leads observing sessions from the dome independently. His knowledge and enthusiasm is surely similar to that of the young Sir Patrick and it was a pleasure to present him with a book about the planets and the award itself, a 4.5 billion year old meteorite. Thank you for your incredible contribution to our school, Max.
