Mims Davies MP and Cllr Jacquie Russell inform, educate and entertain year 12s

Year 12 were delighted to host Mims Davies MP and Councillor Jacquie Russell on Thursday April 7th to a lively and informative presentation and question and answer session, which was both informative and highly entertaining.

The year  group enjoyed learning about the life and work of both an MP and county councillor. They realised the positive effect and difference you can make by holding a public office. Mims’ presentation was followed by a 45 minute student-led question and answer session. Topics covered included climate change, trans-gender athletes and the current crisis in Ukraine.

Thanks goes to the KS4 and KS5 debating society – they organised the questions and chaired the session – particularly special thanks goes to Lao, Suzie, Michael and Leon for their excellent management of the event.

Most of all we would like to thank Ms Davies and Cllr Russell for offering so much of their scarce time.
