Sackville joins the town in remembering the fallen

Headteacher Julian Grant, Head Girl Charlie Main and Head Boy Tom Dean together laid a wreath on Remembrance Sunday at the War Memorial in East Grinstead.
They joined the town in honouring those who gave their lives for the country on the 99th anniversary of the armistice at the end of the Great War.
Students will be discussing remembrance during their tutor time this week, and the theme of assemblies during the week will be ‘peace’. Year 8 students have reached the end of the First World War in their history classes. The poem on the right was written by one of their number as a response to what she had learned in lessons. We think you will agree it is a fitting tribute.
Unusually this year students were not able to observe the two minute silence as Armistice Day itself fell at the weekend.
