This week we invited Sarah Major to talk to the students about Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Students learnt about this ancient form of medicine which is over 2000 years old.
Sarah, a former Sackville student, explained how she became interested in acupuncture after an accident that damaged her knee and led to back pain. She was given the option of an operation or acupuncture and luckily she opted for the later. Having experienced the healing effects it has she decided to train, and has been practising for over 30 years. Sarah is now not only a teacher but also sits on the British Acupuncture Council.
Sarah explained to students how this form of medicine is holistic and treats the whole body in a preventative way as well as responsive.
We would like to thank Sarah for coming in and giving us an insight into the profession, and showing the students how this highly effective treatment is becoming widely recognised by both Eastern and Western medicine.
