Clear skies for first Observatory Open Evening of 2022

Mr Bush was delighted to host the first observatory open evening of the year on Wednesday January 12th. Mr Bush writes:-

It was great to welcome guests once again to our open evening last night and the sky was clear enough for some stunning views of the Moon. The features of crater Clavius were superb, as captured here by Alfie Ward (left), and views across the Southern Highlands were also stunning, as shown by this photo taken by our new Headteacher Ms Meloni (right). Thanks once again to Steve Pond and Max Goddard for help and enthusiasm.

Details of upcoming open evenings can be found on the Observatory Facebook page.

Thank you to Mr Bush who you can see pointing out the stars and planets with his laser pointer.
