Industry professional talks success to our Year 9 and 10 performers

On Wednesday 12th January, ex-professional dancer and choreographer Jeannine Desmier visited Sackville and spoke to all of our Year 9 and 10 BTEC Performing Arts and Dance classes.

Throughout her career as a performer, Jeannine has worked with a wide variety of people, and gained invaluable experience within the industry.

Jeannine gave the students an exciting look into some of the highlights of her career, including performing to 10,000+ troops who were deployed in Afghanistan, choreographing multiple music videos for The Vamps, choreographing and touring internationally for Andrea Bocelli, spending a year performing on a cruise ship in and around Australia and starring in Mamma Mia 2. What a dancing queen!

After retiring as a performer, Jeannine began the next stage of her career: turning her passion and expertise to physical fitness and mental wellbeing. She has since become an entrepreneur and co-founded 1Sculpt Fitness which has two boutique studios in Reigate and Guildford. Jeannine has developed her company from an initial idea to thriving business.

It was clear from her presentation that Jeannine attributes her success to dedication, hard work, discipline and a desire to be the best she can at whatever she does.

The students were thoroughly engaged with what Jeannine had to share, and posed some interesting and thought provoking questions.

Thank you Jeannine for such an inspiring talk!
