Sixth form plan their futures

Sixth form plan their futures

Year 12 enjoyed a dynamic and wide ranging programme of events on Thursday June 9. Our programme included sessions from university representatives, job application preparation and former Sackville students following apprenticeship and degree routes.

The Lifeskills Company ran a CV and cover letter writing workshop, followed by interview preparation and practice led by Mr Batsford, and ably assisted by Mr Watson and Mrs Smith.

The University of Law, University of Sussex and University of the Arts (Plymouth) ran excellent sessions on how to prepare a university application, applying for a law degree in policing, criminology or law, and preparing portfolios for arts related courses.

We were thrilled to welcome some university students to the school, some of them ex-Sackville students, to host a question and answer session on all aspects of university life. We were very impressed by the students and by Neeve Theobald-Smith’s (2020 leaver) presentation and interactive question and answer session on applying for and following a healthcare degree apprenticeship.

Students were then able to spend some time with form tutors researching suitable programmes of study. A big thank you to all those involved in the planning and delivery of the day!
