Andrew remembered in the way he would have loved

Andrew remembered in the way he would have loved

We were delighted to welcome Andrew Smith’s family back to school on Tuesday March 29th. Andrew sadly passed away nearly three years ago after a long illness.

Andrew was a fanatical basketball player who was rarely seen in school without a bouncing ball by his side.

His head of year Mr Endersby ran an ultra-marathon last spring to raise money for a permanent memorial to Andrew, and we are now the proud owners of a new basketball hoop on our playground. Our year 7 basketball team were keen to try this out!

Thank-you to those who supported Mr Endersby with his fundraising, and thank-you too to Andrew’s family for coming in and inaugurating the use of an enduring commemoration of this remarkable young man.
